I must admit that when my client first reached out to me about designing a jellyfish themed engagement ring for his beloved, I was a little take aback. Nature inspired sure: leaves and flowers are not uncommon requests. Any ocean themed requests usually mean waves… but this was the first time I’d been asked to create a jellyfish engagement ring. I knew it would be somewhat challenging to hint at such a unique ocean theme while containing the design to be wearable and engagement ring appropriate. After all, this wasn’t a request for a cocktail ring, something fun and only worn occasionally, where a designer could afford to be more liberal with proportions. For this design, I decided to keep most of the intricate detail work in the gallery of the ring where the jellyfish could have a discernible but subtle homage:

We sourced a gorgeous, high quality VS1-F GIA diamond for the centre which when coupled with creative jewellery design truly makes this unique engagement ring a stand-out in every way. Just look at that jellyfish gallery!
