UNIQUE ENGAGEMENT RING - MUSIC INSPIRED DESIGN
At first glance, you wouldn’t know this engagement ring has meaningful symbols incorporated in its design. Nestled within the ornate, open work detailing are both the treble clef and bass clef. Clearly, this ring was designed for a couple to whom music plays a particularly important role. The groom provided a rough doodle which also included an infinity sign and heart. When so many components need to be included a ring cannot be too narrow and dainty. Room is needed to house all these elements so, I thought a vintage inspired dome style would be both elegant and allow the space needed to include all the design features in a beautiful and cohesive manner. The bride was on board with having a chunkier style of engagement ring so I proceeded to design.

The couple loved what I came up with and, of course, their words were music to my ears! They wanted the complete set including the wedding band which I suggested we keep very simple. The rings turned out beautifully.
Everything is stylized so you may have to search to spot all the symbols in this unique engagement ring. Here’s a little video to help you out. Fun fact: I needed to balance the design with extra swirls so I made the butterfly by using the infinity symbol as the upper wings. Butterflies are a symbol of new beginnings so very suited for the occasion. I also included swirls at the bottom reminiscent of the f-holes on a violin because more musical symbolism doesn’t hurt when the main theme is music.
