I designed this vintage inspired engagement ring a little while back and was thrilled to hear again from the couple when it was time for the wedding bands. I sent them a few concept sketches to get the ball rolling; the bride knew she wanted more diamonds but was open and undecided otherwise. She ended up preferring one of my sketches that had a tight fit as opposed to a loose contour and a style that had diamonds only on the curve. When I asked if the couple would consider an identical ring for the other side (down the road, perhaps for an anniversary) and heard a resounding yes in response, I knew that we should make it in such a way so that the ultimate effect would be that of a perfectly incorporated second halo. However, instead of using the same size diamonds throughout, I recommended we graduate the stones from the centre out for more interest. This would result in the future ring stack having an oblong effect. I love how this custom design project turned out and can't wait to create the anniversary band to complete the look. Once the three are put together the stack will look like a decadent double halo ring with marquise accents. Unique and so very pretty!
