ENGAGEMENT RING GETS A MAJOR FACE LIFT

Below is a before shot of Carolynn's original engagement ring.

It had seen better days and Carolynn was ready for an updated (and upgraded) look. She commissioned me to design something that would incorporate the blue sapphire from her original setting but wanted bigger diamonds and something more substantial that would work with her existing wedding band.

I came up with this sculptural ring design that would house her sapphire and two new 0.30 carat side diamonds and give her that "Wow" factor which was now somewhat lacking in her original engagement ring. Her wedding band has a swooping groove design so I mirrored that design element by including a ridge that rises from the band to form 'curly cue' partial bezels for the diamonds. Carolynn's new engagement ring was then cast and finished in platinum. 

Striking design does not have to be busy. There is both simplicity and drama with this ring and I love how this bespoke piece turned out. Carolynn seemed pretty pleased with the result as well :)
